Detailed Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) you will be met by Signature Safaris’ representative and drive you to your accommodation in Nairobi for overnight stay waiting for your adventures to start on the following day.

Depart early in the morning for the Maasai Mara National Reserve, one of the last places on Earth where wildlife thrives in numbers reminiscent of the historic plains and forests of Africa. As the northern extension of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is famed for the spectacular seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their predators. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive.

After breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is renowned for its black-maned lions and abundant resident wildlife, and it's one of the few places where you can spot the Big Five during a morning game drive. Many cheetahs in the reserve are so accustomed to vehicles that they often seek shade beneath them and occasionally climb onto the roofs for a better view of potential prey. Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled to know that almost 500 species have been recorded here, including 16 species of eagles, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustards (including the Kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

After breakfast, you'll proceed to the Mara Airstrip for your flight to Tanzania's Serengeti National Park. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by your driver and embark on an afternoon safari in this famed park. The Serengeti is renowned for its large populations of wildebeest, zebras, and antelopes, providing an excellent opportunity to see predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as herbivores such as elephants, hippos, and giraffes.

After your morning meal, you'll commence your safari in the Kogatende area, exploring the rocky outcrops (kopjes) while on the lookout for carnivores and the large groups of the Wildebeest Migration that are preparing to cross the Mara River into Kenya. The Mara River, home to significant populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles, serves as the final major obstacle before the wildebeests and zebras can reach the relative safety of the Masai Mara. If you're patient and a bit fortunate, you might even have the chance to witness the thrilling river crossing, where wildebeests and zebras brave the river's currents and crocodile presence in their quest for safety on the opposite bank. Following your adventurous day, you'll enjoy dinner and spend the night in the heart of the Serengeti National Park, based on your chosen accommodation option and standard.

Early morning after breakfast at your accommodation, we will proceed our game drive on the northern Serengeti (Kogatende) following the great migration. You will spend this full day on the northern Serengeti for game viewing and if you’re lucky enough you can spot the crossing at the Mara river as well as crocodiles hunting their prey during the crossing. After lunch and game drive, you will head straight for your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Today you will depart early after your delicious breakfast to Ngorongoro crater with a game drive en-route. The Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtakingly beautiful setting and the best place in East Africa to see the Big Five. It is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife safari sites in the world and an exceptional place to interact with people from the Maasai tribe.On reaching the crater’s edge, the 20 km diameter caldera opens up before you in all its stunning glory and you will descend into the crater on an adventurous trail. This World Heritage Site is seasonally home to over 25,000 animals in including a wide range of birds’ species, hyenas and the endangered black rhino. Hot Lunch will be served at a picnic spot at the hippo pool and after that you will continue to explore the crater.
After exploration you will ascend the crater and drive straight to your accommodation in Karatu for dinner and overnight stay.

Destination: Ngorongoro crater

Early morning after breakfast at, you will drive straight to Lake Manyara National Park which is also known as the home of Tree Climbing Lions and birds’ paradise. More than 500 species are present in Lake Manyara, and even for a first-time visitor to Africa might reasonably expect to observe 100 of these species in a single day. Inland of the floodplain, a narrow belt of acacia woodland is the favored haunt of Manyara’s legendary tree-climbing lions and impressively tusked elephants. Other animals that can be found here are giraffes, Zebras, hyenas, Buffalo, Hippo, elephants and wildebeests. Lunch will be served inside the park and after further exploration of the park you will return to Arusha for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you'll depart from Arusha and begin your journey back to Kenya. The drive offers picturesque views, and you'll go through immigration procedures before meeting your new driver and continuing to the park. Amboseli National Park, known as the "Royal Court of Kilimanjaro," awaits you. Enjoy an afternoon safari drive, where you'll encounter herds of wildebeests and zebras, majestic lions, stealthy hyenas, various antelope species, and some of Kenya's largest elephant herds, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.

You'll need to rise early today to catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro at sunrise. The highest peak in Africa can be elusive, but the early morning light provides the best opportunity to see this majestic mountain. After your Kilimanjaro experience, you'll travel back to Nairobi. Upon arrival, you'll either be transported to the airport for your departure or taken to your hotel to conclude your safari adventure.
