The northern section of Tanzania is a safari paradise, and consequently is visited by the most number of tourists coming into the country. The Northern Tanzania Circuit is blessed with a rich density of wildlife which is meticulously conserved in some of the iconic Tanzania National Parks.

The north-western section of the country especially is filled with savannahs, open grasslands and woodland which accommodate the varied wildlife. Serengeti National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, and Ngorongoro Conservation Area are all present in this section and form the Northern Circuit Safari route. Serengeti which is known for hosting the Serengeti Wildebeest Migration every year is the crowd-favourite and inside of the park there are a number of private concessions operating independently in the far-off wildernesses. These are excellent lodges from where you can easily spot the wildlife of the park. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is another untouched area, the landscape of which is unparallel comprising mountains, plains, swamps painted with a lush green environment. The centrepiece of this is the volcanic caldera, Ngorongoro Crater which holds a unique and rich biodiversity inside of it.

Other parks in the Northern Tanzania Circuit like Arusha National Park and Kilimanjaro National Park are rich in wildlife too. The latter wholly encompasses by Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, while the former surrounds Mount Meru, fifth highest in Africa. With the popularity of Mt. Kilimanjaro climbing tours, the north-eastern section is getting popular too.
