Mikumi

Mikumi National Park is a gorgenous protected area in Tanzania which is being growing in importance since the opening of a paved road which connected the park gate with Dar es Salaam, making the transportation easier. It is perched between the Uluguru Mountains and the Lumango Range. Possessing wide variety of wildlife, this is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania. It has quickly become a tourism hotspot for both locals and tourists because of its favorable close location from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s biggest city. The wildlife diversity of Mikumi is often compared to that of Serengeti because it houses the Big Five of Africa (cheetah, lion, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) along with other animals. There are a number of pools where you can find hippos swathed in mud and birds along its waterways. Bordering protected areas are Selous Game Reserve and Udzungwa National Park, and together the three location make a varied pleasing safari circuit. The scenic beauty of this park is immense as well.
